Walking to dinner with a friend, I noticed a sign a the Knitting Factory saying that Amandla was playing that night. Well, shiteeee.... Lookey, lookey! I had my camera with me. I take her everywhere. Chatted with him during dinner and he said to follow my instinct and go. I didn't know anyone in the band, had never seen the band play before. I knew of them because it was Claude Coleman Jr.'s band and he is the drummer in my all time favorite band - WEEN. Ween is the fucking best.
After chowing, I headed on over to the knitting factory, way way way way way early. Like, I was the only person in the place. As I was standing at a small table in the room, I saw Claude walk by. Fuck it, what did I have to lose? I walked over and introduced myself and asked if it would be okay for me to make images of his show. He was so nice and said absolutely!
