Katrina & Patrick got all spiffy to go to a party so I had to snap a super quick photo of them before they left.

an afternoon with Karina Rykman | Covington Imagery

Just starting off with saying – Karina Rykman – Remember that name.  You’ll be hearing it a lot in the future.  She is a powerhouse of talent who is making things happen that I would never have dreamed possible at her age.

After spending an afternoon recording her interview with the ever gracious Jim Campilongo, Karina and I wandered around Bushwick and had Rice Balls & made some photo moments.  She is as talented as she is beautiful as she is a genuinely awesome person.

Elspeth’s Words of Love | | A Boudoir Review | Covington Imagery

“I spent a wonderful Saturday afternoon at Ashly Covington’s Studio. Ashly is a warm, funny, and down to earth photographer. This was my first time modeling and I was nervous . But Ashly made me feel right at home. She has a contagious energy and  with the help of 80’s  music playing in the background l began to feel right at home. While Ashly photographed she gave direction with encouraging words that were easy to follow. Her enthusiasm helped me to relax and respond the way needed to capture the pose and pictures. I  enjoyed myself immensely and was amazed and delighted at the pictures she took of me. She is a extremely talented photographer.”

Very Very | Shakespearean Rock Show | Music Photography

A couple of weeks ago I got to see Very Very which is a brand new Shakespearean Rock Show created by Jay Leibowitz, Zac Lasher, and Jason King Jones during the final dress rehearsal at The Gibson – Baldwin Showroom.   I found myself laughing and being pulled into the story that was told with rocking songs while I set out to capture that magic that is live performance.   Big thanks to Jay & Zac & Vin & Dan (CB Peeps RULE!) for having me out for the fun.   Also…Gibson Showroom – WOW!  That place is AWESOME.  The studios are gorgeous and to think of all the incredible talents that pass through those hallways and all the memories from the days of The Hit Factory.  Good vibe in a space.
from the press release
Brooklyn artists Jay Leibowitz (STNJ, TAC, Shakespeare’s Who’s on First), and Zac Lasher (U-Melt, Brooklyn Sound Lab, Bebe Buell Band), will take the stage with their company of 18 professional performers and musicians in two live concert readings of VERY VERY – an exciting new vision of Shakespeare’s As You Like It, re-imagined as a contemporary rock concert, on March 4, 2013. The show, which will get its world premiere in NYC later in 2013, will be presented at TheGibson-Baldwin Showroom and is sponsored by Gibson NYC. Jason King Jones (Olney Theatre, STNJ, TAC), will stage the exclusive event.
Created by Lasher, Leibowitz, and Jones, VERY VERY features 28 original songs adapted from Shakespeare’s text in this sexy reinvention of a classic comedy of rebellion, love, freedom, and redemption.”

People’s Blues of Richmond | PBR in NYC | Music Photography

People’s Blues of Richmond rocked their way to NYC to master their new album “Good Time Suicide” with Dan Miller at Engine Room Audio.  Dan, who has a Gold record for Trey Songz’s “Heart Attack”, along with his assistant Nate Osborne, put the final touches on PBR’s album and then let the boys loose on the streets of Manhattan where they took Pianos by storm with their electrifyingly ruthless sound.

PBR plays straight up vintage rock and roll.  Their sound is raw and real.  A PBR show gives me a glimpse of what it must have been like to be at a Cream or Hendrix show.  Tim Beavers II, vocals & guitar; Matthew Volkes, bass; Nikoro Williams, drums; and Tommy Booker, keys, took the Pianos crowd on a psychedelic bluesy rock and roll trip.
