Bandwriting Collective – Session 2 – Rodeo Bar | Music Photography | NYC

The first session of the summer program for Bandwriting Collective churned out an impressive 6 songs in 2 weeks and I was excited to see what had happened during the 2nd two week session.  I showed up at Rodeo Bar, love this joint, great food and always a cool vibe.  Well, they flat out doubled the impressive with 12 songs!  12 finished songs, recorded and about to be performed to the crowd of excited friends and family.

The energy before the show was at a high level.  Everyone was giddy to rock out in the NYC club.

Rebecca’s Words of Love | A Portrait Review | Covington Imagery

“It was wonderful opportunity for me to work with Ashly.  I went in hoping to get one good head-shot but I left with having so many great photos that the hardest part of the entire experience has been how to choose.  From the beginning of the photo shoot Ashly made me feel comfortable and her positive energy was contagious.  It felt to me more like playing dress up with friends, including tons of laughter, than the typical nervousness of getting the shot right.  There was no right or wrong just good times and it shows in the moments Ashly captured.
Thank you for everything!
All the best,
Rebecca”

Thank you Rebecca for your kind words, you were amazing to work with.  Sarah Wood, the rock star makeup artist and I had a great time playing dress up with you.   & getting to hear you sing, wow.   You gave all of us goosebumps.   I look forward hearing your perform onstage one day.

Ready to hear Rebecca sing?

Gordon Jones | Promo | Music Photography

What do you do when you get a phone at Midnight on a Wednesday from Mr. Gordon Saxman Jones?   You say “get your butt to Bushwick!”  A delayed flight on a long journey from Helsinki where he was performing with Corey Harris landed Gordon Saxman Jones on my doorstep, er, rooftop.  We played and caught up with a 3-5am photo shoot when the air was cool and summer felt fantastic.  I think that I have these photo shoots all wrong.  The last few hours of the night are amazing and they give way to a glimpse of the sun before the heat starts pounding.  I think I want to schedule all upcoming photo shoots after midnight.  Who needs an ‘After Hours’ session?
