Great night all around. RVA brought it to Brooklyn Bowl Friday night with the addition of DJ Williams to Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Fantastic to see DJ owning his place on that stage. He keeeeeeeled killed killed killed it! I saw a guy in the crowd turn with great amazement to his friend after on of DJ’s solos and go ‘HOLY SHIT! WHO THE FUCK IS THAT GUY?? HOT GODDAMN!!!’ And what a wonderful group for him to join, in addition to the blistering jazzy funky soul, they are some of (if not the) nicest musicians I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Plus they know a good rice ball.
