Von Shakes & MX at Cary Street Cafe | Music Photography | RVA

FINALLY!  I’ve been wanting Von Shakes to get their butts to RVA for a long time.  We’ve been talking about it for almost two years and it finally happened and in the most proper way.  Mekong Xpress & The Get Fresh Horns invited them to open at Cary St Cafe for a jam packed Friday night show.  The boys got to RVA and promptly fell in love with the city, who doesn’t?  Once they got onstage, RVA promptly fell in love with them.  They know how to get a crowd going and excited!  It was awesome to see my Brooklyn & RVA worlds collide in such a fun night!!!

Everyone was pumped and ready to rage when Mekong Xpress & The Get Fresh Horns took over the stage.  If you haven’t seen this band yet and you live in RVA, then I just don’t know if we can still be friends.  They are the funkiest, rockinist, groovin’ group in the RVA.  You never know what type of awesome is going to happen when they play, but you know its going to be awesome, every single time.
